how blogs make money but we're not gonna talk about putting a bunch of ugly-ass ads all
over your site mostly because I want you to make more than 60 cents a month from your blog
like I want you to make a real full-time livable income so we're going to talk about
monetization methods that can help you do that even if your blog is on the smaller side.
And you're not getting tons and tons of traffic I'm so excited to share this with you today
because I know for me learning this kind of information made such a huge difference in my
life and in my career it's cheesy as that fucking sounds I guess I'm kind of cheesy on
this blog a lot more than I would like to admit but it really did make such a big difference
in my life in a career.
Once I learned about other monetization methods and that you don't just have to rely on throwing ads all over your blog posts in your sidebar and all that kind of stuff and by the way the advice in this article is not just some regurgitated bullshit that I found online this is based on my actual experience growing both a service space and a product based business and having a 14 K month as a direct result of my blog we're gonna jump right in I'm gonna give you the three monetization methods and I'll break them down a little further but before we do three super quick things as always if you guys have been around here a while you know the drill be sure to hit the share button if you enjoy this content.

let's go ahead and get started so the three monetization methods are services which is exactly what it sounds like you.
Just offer a service to someone who really needs and could benefit from that service the second one is affiliate income which means you promote a product you enjoy on your website with a special affiliate link that you get from the company and then anytime someone buys the product through your link you make a commission and the third monetization method is products now this can be physical products like merch coffee cups t-shirts all that kind of shit or you can go the digital product route and sell online courses spreadsheets digital planners and loads whatever it is that's the best fit for your audience so we're gonna keep it rolling and move on to the breakdown of these three methods and I'll kind of give you some examples of how you could monetize using these methods so the

first one was services out when you go the services route you want to make sure first of all that you're charging enough don't be that person who starts a freelance writing business and charges a penny per word really sit down and do the math and think how many clients do I need to charge X amount of money to make X dollars per month you really have to think
about this stuff if you want to create a full-time income really with any method whether it services products or affiliate income so with services you want to continually write.
blog posts that attract the specific type of audience who is gonna be the exact perfect fit for the services you are offering an example of this is if you start an IT and Technology copywriting business in other words you decided to be a freelance writer and offer those such services you would want to write blog posts that would attract that kind of audience right IT and technology businesses who are likely to need a copywriter or freelance writer so to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about here it will pop a couple of blog post titles up on the screen
here because I used to offer IT and Technology copywriting services and these blog posts although they didn't get tons and tons of traffic it didn't matter you don't need tons and tons of traffic to your posts you just need to get them in front of the right people because even if you only get a hundred views on your post if those are all or most your exact target audience and people who are ready to hire you that is way better than getting thousands of views from people who aren't gonna be interested in your services so do keep that in mind even if you're just walking for a small audience this method can be so effective now.

let's talk about affiliate income which again just means you have an affiliate link for a product that you enjoy and anytime you promote that link and someone clicks on it and makes a
purchase then you get a commission now I actually have an Articles in this I'm not gonna spend like an hour explaining affiliate income and how it works and I can use it but I will link to that article it has examples of how
I've made affiliate income and it shows you exactly which blog posts I have used to create that income so definitely check that out if you are wanting to make money blogging via affiliate income just to give you an example of a good way to create a income let's say you have a photography blog in you do camera reviews and you're reviewing a camera you use that you really enjoy you could grab an affiliate link for that camera and anytime someone who reads that review because you've linked out to it every time using your affiliate link anytime they click on any of those links and make a purchase then you will get a cut of that you will make a commission.

all right moving right along to the final monetization method I want to talk about which is products so I will tell you that digital products have consistently been my biggest source of income and also the thing I enjoy the most because not only do I get to create something that provides me with a good source of income I also get to create something that is really really helpful for my target readers and my audience now I'm specifically talking about online courses and master classes that I've created but you could offer so many different things if you have a vegan food blog you could have a vegan grocery list if you have a blog about home organization you could have a home.
organization planner or something like that it really with all these methods just comes down to really knowing what your blog niches which and exactly who your target reader is because if you don't know your target reader is you can't create the perfect product or service or whatever for your audience that is why it's so important to have a very clear idea of who they are what their goals are what their struggles are all these different things you create a product or a service that's gonna be super helpful for them because when you create something that's super helpful for someone that is gonna create that win-win situation where you make money and that person really gets help doing something they want to do another point I want to make here is that when you're blogging with a monetization method like services or products in mind you need to think about it like your blog posts are there to the audience for the eventual service or product do you want to sell in other words if you want to sell an advanced electric guitar playing course maybe don't spend six months blogging about beginner guitar or beginner piano or something like that really get clear on your audience and who you want to serve in the product or service you want to offer that way you can create your entire content strategy around your monetization method that's gonna save you a lot of time and a lot of trouble and just get you to the full time income you want the fastest and I'll say it again.

Make sure you do the math when you are thinking about your monetization method set an income goal and then if you're going with services think about how many clients do I need and how much they need to pay me for me to make X dollars per month same if you're going with products how many of product a and product B do I need to sell how does that relate to my email list how does that relate to my traffic really get specific on your goals and what you want to achieve because that is gonna help you so much no matter what monetization method you choose but don't choose ads if you choose ads and you come to me saying I only made 20 cents this month I will say to you it is because you monetize your blog with ads, not a good decision.
My friend just don't do it resist the urge I know it is tempting to just hop in there and be like oh well I can make 20 cents this month but it's so much better to just think long term and play the long game with your blog and really be like well I can make 20 cents this month or maybe in 12 months I could be making $3,000 a month don't put all these ugly-ass ads all over my site so just a little mini-rant there for you to close this article out and that is all I have for you today so I hope you enjoyed
