So what is jealousy in a relationship?
Jealousy is really just an emotion. It's your thoughts, it's your insecurity, it's your fear or concern over losing someone to someone else. And believe it or not, this emotion even occurs in other animals. According to psychologists Abraham Buunk and Alejandro Castro-Solano,
some birds, including the bank swallows, OK, they might stalk their mate, spying on them as often as 100 times per day. And imagine if these birds had access to Instagram. They'd easily get up to, like, 200 times a day.
So let's talk about how to stop being jealous.
No 1, is to recognize if it's a problem.
I really want you to do a .inventory of past relationships. Take a look at what's happened in your dating life or your love life.
Are you the jealous type? Or is this the first time you're really experiencing this level of jealousy?
Now, for example, if him talking to any other woman erupts a flame of fury inside
of you, then you know what? You're probably just really jealous.
No 2,: look at your relationship.
From his perspective. I want you, as much as possible in a relationship, to really put yourself in his shoes. I mean, are you suffocating him? Are you watching his every single step? How would you feel if you were dating someone that reacted this way? Really take a look at that, and this is what's called empathy, right? Putting yourself in someone else's shoes and trying to understand their perspective. I think so few people do that in relationships, and I find that any time,
let's say, Jessica and I get in a fight, and let's say we're jealous, let's just take that as an example. The moment you just kinda put yourself in their perspective, you can very quickly start to understand each other. You might not necessarily agree with each other right off the bat, but you can start to understand each other, and understanding will get you closer to some type of resolve in the fight.

No 3, try to figure out what is the true reason for your jealousy.
Maybe you've been really burned in the past, maybe you've been cheated on, or maybe even going further back, you can take a look at your childhood and your upbringing, and maybe you weren't getting enough attention from your family, so you would get jealous if they would
show attention elsewhere. A lot of your jealousy, especially if it's unhealthy jealousy, can really stem from your past, and as a starting point, if you're finding that your jealousy is really
destroying your relationships,
then learning and understanding this emotion and where it comes from, is going to really help you understand that it is really just an irrational emotion in many cases, and just like any emotion, you can learn to control your emotions. You have total power over your emotions, especially if you can notice them, and if you can notice it come up, then what you can start to do is take a look at the emotion and why it's there. And just like any other emotion, especially the ones that are irrational, such as, let's say, anger, you can learn to control it and disregard it.
No 4, Remember That You're a High-Value Woman -
so start acting that way. Anyone gets jealous when we feel threatened, right? We feel threatened that we're gonna lose someone, then they're gonna want to be with someone else, but if you can remember that you are that high-value woman, then it's gonna be so much likely you'll keep him in your life.
No 5, please avoid social media stalking! On Facebook,
he liked a picture of a girl he knew from high school? So the (beeps) what? It doesn't mean anything! In one survey that we found, researchers found that those who were jealous tended to monitor their Facebook profile activity way more. They were snoopers! They were on Facebook, and the more that they would find evidence to worry about, that would lead to even more spying and create this vicious cycle of increased monitoring and jealousy. So if you're finding that you're in that cycle, take a step away, and go get a life! So there you have it, those are the five ways to stop being jealous.
